God Saw You Getting Tired is a beautiful poem that a lot of people love and have been using throughout the years. It was written in 1939 by Frances M. Coelho for her mother, Frances Medeiros. In 1986, after the death of her husband, she want to take it out again. Her daughter, Kathleen Coelho, has changed 1 – 1/2 lines in this poem at that period of time. So Frances M. Coelho wanted Kathleen Coelho’s name as the author of this poem as well. Till 1987, to honor her husband on his 1st death anniversary, she published this poem in the Standard-Times Newspaper.
God saw you getting tired
a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you fade away,
although we loved you dearly
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
your tender hands at rest,
God took you home to prove to us
He only takes the best.

God Saw You Getting Tired Poem is a heartfelt message sent to a deceased loved one by those who are still alive. These loving words imply that the loved one probably was so tired. And there is no way to heal him. So God has come and taken him to a better place.
The poem expresses the grief experienced by those who are still alive. They have no way to keep him staying – on this life. And though they don’t want to let him go, they can do nothing. The poem ends meaningful with the highest respect to the loved one who has gone with God that is: He was the best because God only takes the best thing to go with him.
This poem, on the other hand, would be an encouragement to those who stay here that their loved one has passed on to a better place. Therefore, to the people that still are here, don’t be so sad!
We hope that after understanding the meaning of this poem, you will be more certain to use it to honor your loved one who has passed away!
Via this poem, we also want to send deep condolence to people who have just lost someone they love. The hardest time may be so hard to go through. But if you could look ahead, you could find that you still have a long time to live. And still, there are a lot of people that need you to love! So stay strong and keep walking to a brighter future!
